Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI): FLEX Full (Formerly Hybrid)

Starting in January 2017 all NCI participants, FLEX (formerly Hybrid) and Refresher will be completing the NEW and improved online module. For more information, click here.

Do you have the skills necessary to intervene with the most difficult students?

In support of Policy JKA and state law, all DPS center-based staff must be NCI-certified to ensure staff and student safety.  DPS offers the non-violent crisis intervention/restraint training (NCI) to any interested related service providers and administrators. In order to remain certified, staff must attend a four-hour refresher course each year.  These half-day offerings are available throughout the year.

What is Trauma-informed Care?

This course examines the influence of trauma on behavior and offers strategies and staff approaches to promote a culture of care that is trauma-informed and person-centered for all stakeholders, including family members who support those in care.  With a better understanding of the function of behavior, those who have
experienced trauma can be served.
