High School Social Studies New Curriculum Professional Learning, Year 1, Option 2

Teachers will develop a deep understanding of how to provide instruction with the new McGraw Hill (Geography, Civics and Economics) and National Geographic (US History) textbooks and online resources. Teachers will collaboratively grow their capacity to provide inquiry-based and student-centered instruction through the C3 Framework for Social Studies. Strategies for differentiation for all learners will be emphasized through a series of breakout sessions focused on Gifted and Talented, English Learner, Educational Technology and Special Education adaptations.
