ELA 104: Academic Language in the Content Areas

This 3.5-hour face-to-face course provides participants an opportunity to deepen their knowledge about the different types of English learners in DPS, the ELA program models in DPS, the research that supports best practice for English learners, and content and language objectives. Participants will:

• Demonstrate understanding of the various populations of English learners in DPS
• Demonstrate understanding of how ELA school programs are determined
• Demonstrate understanding of how and why teachers are designated
• Demonstrate understanding of Content Language Objectives (CLOs)
