This is a hybrid course. Please bring laptop computers to all mandatory face-to-face sessions!
This 16-hour hybrid course builds participants’ understanding of why academic language is an important focus for all students and how to support its development in the classroom. The course is filled with structures and strategies for engaging students in the use of academic language and will focus on intentionally planning for students’ academic language development. Academic language is indicator I.4 in the Framework for Effective Teaching (LEAP) and its development is critical to closing the opportunity gap.
